|On 15-02-1998 Ramon fought against Jerry Morris from
Holland. Jerry just did not attack. He didn’t really want to fight. He was
just running for 5 rounds. It was Morris’ frustrating style – his defensive
countering style – that gave Dekkers fits. Morris didn’t seem to want to
stand toe to toe with Dekkers; he wanted to move around. He wanted to use
his defense and pick his own shots and it was mainly a boxing match.
Nevertheless, though he did not fight the way he should have in this fight,
we should not forget that Jerry Morris is a formidable fighter himself. On
the other hand, he did what Dekkers hated. He moved around and scored
points. So Ramon lost that fight in Hattem/Holland by decision.
